On behalf of the Board of Management, I am delighted to be associated with such an extremely progressive school. The school of the year 2009/ 10 is a school of partnership involving pupils teachers, parents, school administration and support staff, clergy, Board of Management and the wider community. An old African proverb recites, "it takes a whole village to rear a child." The modern school is a "virtual" village. When most of us adults were in school, we were being prepared for adult life and it is now nice to see the new emphasis on the child's life, and the acknowledgement in education that the primary years are equally important to that of the adult years. It is to be hoped, that with the continued commitment of all partners concerned, that every child's life will become even more enriched, and the experience of their primary years even more enjoyable.
